The great after-school adventure

The true adventure began the moment school ended. Rushing home, we would quickly make our way to the vegetable fields and pilfer some vegetables. Then, journeying toward the center of the wetlands (bil), we would hollow out a small pit in the soil using straw and build a stove using bricks around the perimeter. Cooking our bounty right there, we would feast with joy. All the classmates, in a thrilling rush, would then gather in teams at high tide to swim back and forth across the river.

One day, while swimming and fishing mid-river, a large boat suddenly bore down on us. In the panic, one of our classmates was pulled beneath the hull. We were all crying in fear. By pooling all our efforts, we managed to rescue our friend.
